The ProSPER.Net 15th General Assembly, hosted by UNU-IAS, was held on 13 October, 2021. Over 40 representatives from the network attended the online meeting.
Following opening remarks from Prof. Shinobu Yume Yamaguchi, (Director, UNU-IAS) and a message from Mr. Takeo Sugii (Director, Office of Environmental Education, General Policy Division, Ministry’s Secretariat, Ministry of the Environment, Japan), a review of new membership applications was presented, resulting in two new members being acknowledged. Joining the network for 2021 are Aligarh Muslim University (India), and Kyushu University (Japan), bringing the total members to 52.
The ProSPER.Net Secretariat provided updates on ProSPER.Net activities conducted over the past year, including the 2021 ProSPER.Net Leadership Programme, the ProSPER.Net Webinar On Sustainability In Higher Education, and the completion of two joint research projects, ‘Disaster Education For Integrating SFDRR And SDG In Asia‘, and ‘Development Of A Framework For The Local Implementation Of The SDGs – Phase II‘.
A strategic discussion session provided members with the opportunity to discuss thematic areas, priority activities, and joint research projects within the network.
The ProSPER.Net Secretariat would like to congratulate the two new members to the network (Aligarh Muslim University and Kyushu University), and thank all attendees for their active contributions and participation in this meeting.
