ProSPER.Net members gathered in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, for the 12th ProSPER.Net General Assembly and 18th Board Meeting, hosted by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) on 23 October, 2018. The ProSPER.Net Secretariat would like to express our appreciation to UTM and their team for their commitment and outstanding support to make the meeting successful!
The Secretariat reported on the network activities and collaboration with partners, and lead members reported on the progress of the joint research projects. New membership applications were reviewed and approved, and 15 members were elected to serve as the Board for two years from October 2018. During the breakout session, the members discussed mobility programmes, contributions to the implementation of the SDGs, and international recognition and visibility.
The 4th ICLCA (International Conference on Low Carbon Asia & Beyond) was held back-to-back with the ProSPER.Net Joint Meetings (24-26 October, 2018), which brought together researchers and multi-stakeholders from academia, government and private sectors to share knowledge and experiences relating to the transformation towards low-carbon development in Asia. ProSPER.Net joined the ICLCA as a conference partner and Dr. Kazuhiko Takemoto, Director of UNU-IAS, gave a presentation on the implementation of the SDGs within the international community and in Japan. ProSPER.Net members participated in the ICLCA and shared their work and activities with various stakeholders. Visit the conference website for more details.
The ProSPER.Net Secretariat is pleased to welcome five new members to the network, which were approved at the recent meeting:
