This year, UNU is co-chairing the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI), a global partnership of over 1,000 institutional members dedicated to advancing sustainable development within the higher education sector.
Building on this commitment, the Action Group on the “Futures of Higher Education and Artificial Intelligence” has been launched, which aims to establish a transdisciplinary collaborative platform by leveraging UNU’s network of partners. It will build a knowledge base on current trends, opportunities and risks that Artificial Intelligence (AI) poses to higher education through the lens of sustainable development.
To ensure focused expertise and in-depth exploration, sub-Action Groups (sub-AGs) on the following specific domains will be established:
- AI in teaching and learning
- AI in research
- AI in institutional management and administration
- AI in community and industry engagement
- AI in ethics, safety, and inclusivity
We are seeking partner institutions from ProSPER.Net members to join these sub-AGs, who can facilitate targeted collaboration and tailor impactful activities relevant to the sub-group’s theme.
